The town of Red River is located in northern New Mexico in the Carson National Forest. The average temperature in the summer is 75 degrees F making it the perfect place to get away from the summer heat. Opportunities for outdoor recreation in the summer include fishing, hiking, mountain biking, nature trails, four wheel drive trails, fun activities at the Red River Ski and Summer Area, and breathtaking scenery all around. During the Autumn months enjoy the brisk mountain air and spectacular foliage as the aspens turn golden. Winter turns our little mountain town into a snowy winter wonderland with downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, tubing, and sledding. Don't miss the torchlight parade on "The Face" every Saturday night during ski season.
